My Story

I grew up in Mahopac, NY, about 1 hour north of New York City in a Christian home with my mom, dad, brother and sister. I was active in our church youth group, Christian camps (Deerfoot Lodge, Word of Life camps, Good Tidings Bible Conference), and many other things. I got my B.A. in Psychology from Taylor University (awesome place!) in '92, then my M.S. in Community Counseling from GA State in '96, my Ph.D. in Counselor Education in '01, and took my '96 diploma and made it into a '05 M.S. in Christian Psychological Studies. I have been in Christian Counseling for many years, and love to help people through hard times. I have worked as an adjunct professor at Ole Miss, Itawamba Community College, and Mississippi Virtual Community College. I have also been a full-time prof at MS State, Troy University, and now Mercer University. I am married with 4 kids. I became a Christian when I was 5 years old- hearing how Jesus can forgive us for all our bad stuff and then take us to heaven when we die...made perfect sense to me as a 5 year old...and even more as I get older.
